TATA BULL
LIGHTNING SOUND SYSTEM CEO
TATA BULL
The Man Behind Lightning Sound
Jamaican Sound-System Owner | International Promoter | Music Pioneer
From Spanish Town to the International Stage
In the history of Jamaican sound-system culture, some names deserve to be remembered and celebrated. Tata Bull is one of those names.
Originally from Spanish Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica, Tata Bull established his place in the music industry as the owner of Lightning Sound, a sound system that dates back to the 1980s.
His involvement in music extended beyond owning a sound system. He was also a promoter, helping bring artists, entertainment and Jamaican musical culture to audiences both locally and internationally.
Lightning Sound represented the spirit of Jamaican sound-system culture: powerful music, talented performers, unforgettable entertainment and the ability to bring people together through music.
Working With Jamaican Musical Talent
Throughout his journey in the music business, Tata Bull worked with several respected Jamaican entertainers.
Among the artists associated with his musical journey were:
* Lieutenant Stitchie
* Hammer Mouth
* Major Worries
These are just a few of the names connected to his experiences in the music industry.
His work as a sound-system owner and promoter helped create opportunities for entertainment and allowed Jamaican music culture to reach audiences beyond the island.
A Legacy That Lives On
Although Tata Bull eventually made Canada his home, his Jamaican roots and contribution to sound-system culture remain an important part of his story.
His passing marks the end of a chapter, but it does not erase the memories, friendships and musical history he helped create.
To those who knew him personally, he was more than a sound-system owner. He was a friend, a colleague and a part of their journey through music.
Today, we celebrate the man, the promoter, the friend and the legacy of Lightning Sound.
Tata Bull, your name will continue to live through the culture you helped represent.
Rest in eternal peace.

Peetah Morgan
The Reggae world is still reeling from the death of Peetah Morgan the lead singer of Morgan Heritage; I will be paying tribute to him on my @bbc1xtra show this Sunday 3rd March 1pm -3pm. RIP 🤍
Etana Said: Don't mistaken.
the Reggae Gold Award event by JCDC and Wray and Nephew should not be confused or mistaken for the VP Reggae Gold thieving album which is a compilation of different artists most popular works which collects all the streams and sales for those songs under the title “Reggae Gold” which belongs entirely to the company and or their affiliated companies. The Award show celebrated the greats in Reggae Music and I think it should continue for years to come.
